You’re Invited!

Want to take action to build a betta mo’ beautiful world? You’re invited this Saturday, September 27th, to join us at the DMST Atelier, in Mid City LA from 11-1pm, where we will be building community, discussing and planning out forms of resistance, coalition building and ways to resist authoritarian practices as artists in today's world. Come on down! We’ll talk about the Beauty Salons — what they are and why now. We'll break out into small groups and play games from the BEAUTIFUL TROUBLE "trivial pursuit"  card deck to get creative with our ideas for political art campaigns!  There will also be free food, camaraderie and good vibes. Background

This summer we launched our first Beauty Salon workshop series. A workshop series focused on community organizing and leadership building. We brought together a group of talented and daring artists who all want more from our current administration, who want to challenge the notions of capitalism and help spread economic democracy in LA and beyond. After exploring the different ways we could engage the community we decided to create an artists collective.
