A New Adventure at the Florence Firestone Library

Sharing What We’ve Built Together

At Transformation Arts, we love keeping our community inspired and informed. Today, we wanted to enlighten our readers about a recently completed project that celebrates the joy of art, storytelling, and imagination.

Art for Young Readers

In February 2025, the Florence-Firestone community gathered to celebrate the unveiling of The Alvarez Adventure by Ivy Velazquez (@lil40s)—a vibrant, 4-panel artwork in the Children’s Area of the Florence Firestone Library.

The series shows a family reading together and journeying into a world of imagination. As the pages turn, the family is transported into colorful, dreamlike landscapes—filled with soaring creatures, enchanted forests, and glowing constellations that spill from the book’s edges into the canvas. From a child’s perspective, the panels feel like an open invitation to step inside the story, blending the warmth of family connection with the thrill of discovery and showing young readers that books are both doorways to adventure and anchors to the people and community they love.
