Tao Te Ching # 12

Colors blind the eye.
Sounds deafen the ear.
Flavors numb the taste.
Thoughts weaken the mind.
Desires wither the heart.

The Master observes the world but trusts his inner vision.
He allows things to come and go.
His heart is open as the sky.

Hsin Hsin Ming, Sen T'san, 3rd Patriarch

We started this exposure to these almost a year ago. One month is a good start for contemplating each verse. This is the 11th verse, each month we will add one more until it is complete. Check the newsletter archive at Transformationarts.org for past months.

Emptiness here, emptiness there,
but the infinite universe stands
always before your eyes.
Infinitely large and infinitely small;
no difference, for definitions have vanished and no boundaries are seen.
So too with Being and non-Being.
Don't waste time in doubts and arguments that have nothing to do with this.

Part 2: Grounding & Relationships
by Michael Vasquez

This past week we have had a couple of Free-talks on Grounding and the inter-active aspects that support functional relationships. When we consider our social skills and our ability to have lasting relationships and sincere connections to friends and family, we may become aware of our own boundaries, limitations, what's appropriate, inner feelings and thought-dialogue, motives, willingness, and our own relationship to self. Relationships and our ability to accommodate the many variables of individual expression, give direct reflection into our own psyche. This can dredge-up feelings that may lead to in-sight and remind us that we are fused with the rhythm of Life's lessons and learning- no coincidences. If we understand this, we are able to learn from our experiences and refine our inter-actions, see the areas that need adjusting/attention, and return to our original state of continuous learning.

We can begin to understand all of this by seeing our individual cells as a type of community. With-in our cellular community, we have governing bodies or large cell-groups that manage vital life-support systems such as the Heart and the brain. The secondary levels of management is the other bodily organs, carrying out the needs and changes necessary for survival and adapting to life's changes; protection, hunger, elimination, cleansing, harmonizing, temperature control, rest etc. These larger cell groups that maintain life support have and un-dying commitment to perform, and a higher capacity to regulate and disperse; they are the elite leader-cell-groups of the body, just as communities have leaders and managers responsible for societal functions.
